Children’s House Running Club with Crazy Running 
Time: 3:15 -4 p.m.

We focus on getting kids moving and making exercise fun! Runners will be introduced to simple strength exercises, fundamental running techniques, and play games that provide a kid-friendly cardio workout! These young runners will be challenged based on their ability; this program is appropriate for the beginning runner or a young athlete who has finished lots of races! The 6 weeks of training teach the qualities of “what it takes” to be a good runner and athlete: goals and determination, endurance, strength, speed, flexibility, & good nutrition.

In this beginner piano Studio inspired by the Montessori approach, children will embark on a journey into the magical world of piano. Through this immersive experience, children will learn the basics about the piano and reading music. Join us as we waltz together, step-by-step, starting from the humble beginnings of their very first note and unlocking the wonders of music. There will be a recital at the end of the fall session for families to join.

Get ready to putt, chip, and drive, while having fun! TGA’s expert coaches will deliver age-appropriate fundamentals and etiquette lessons for golf.

Join Ms. Scarlet for some fall focus art. Students will be inspired by the changing colors and cooler weather for their projects. The students will get the opportunity to explore and grow their art skills while having fun creating different art projects.

Prepare to enter an enchanted island filled with mythological monsters, legendary creatures and things that go bump in the night. You and a STEAM Team®of friends will take on engineering challenges from Dracula to Dragons, from Medusa to Monster Trucks to Egyptian Mummies! A STEAMtastic adventure that only Challenge Island could dream up, Monsters and Myths Island is so spectacular it will give you goosebumps.

Students will enjoy extra practice and fun with friends during violin Studio. The curriculum will be a continuation of what students are working on during their school-day violin class. We will also take a closer look at music theory concepts using the Music Mind Games curriculum. Parents are invited to join part of our final class for an informal performance and demonstration of our skills.

The LMC Players Studios Plus program engages MSR's Elementary students (grades 2-6) in an immersive after-school theater experience that introduces them to acting technique, taking direction, staging, technical theater, costuming, design, and more. The experience culminates in a full production performed before a live audience on the stage of MSR's Watson Center.  

This year, LMC players is putting on a stage adaptation of Francis Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden.  We will be welcoming 22 students into the Studio. This year we are introducing understudies for the 5 lead roles. 10 students will have the opportunity to play lead roles for two shows each. We will be doing a total of 4 public performances and one shortened performance for the MSR community. This Studio will continue to be a fully immersive experience with students helping with all aspects of production. We invite you to have a conversation with your child/children to see what their interests are. There are also medium-size and very small roles available to those who want to act, but also have other interests. Each student will also get dialect training for English Yorkshire accents throughout the school year.
