Head of School Transition

Head of School Search Process

Head of School Monica Rodriguez has announced she will be stepping down from her role in June 2027 following seven years of successful leadership at The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) and Carolina Preparatory Academy (Carolina Prep). MSR and Carolina Prep is a thriving Montessori and International Baccalaureate community of students ranging 15 months to grade 12, and this transition process will provide continuity between the current and next head of school for our institution.

The Board of Trustees will lead the search for the School's next head of school, appoint a search committee, and ensure that all members of the MSR community, including parents, faculty, staff, administrators, students, and friends of the School are invited to provide feedback. The School values a diversity of perspectives as it embarks on finding the best candidate to be the next head of school of the community we all love.

In early 2026, the MSR/Carolina Prep Board of Trustees will announce more details regarding the partnership with a consulting firm to lead a national search for the School's next head of school. As the search process continues, updates will be shared through this page.
