Physical Education

The Sports, Games and Fitness program is designed so each student spends time developing the qualities of time management, teamwork, communication, group organization, personal responsibility, sportsmanship, self- improvement and leadership.

Every PE class is divided into segments, and is completed before the class moves on to another activity. This process develops personal responsibility within the individual and group members as everyone has the same common goal to finish each activity in the shortest amount of time possible. Time management is an important component of the Sports, Games and Fitness program. It is important that students get the most out of the time they are in PE each week. Students are gaining valuable organizational skills necessary to be successful both in and out of the classroom.

While in PE each student learns how to be an effective leader and someone who communicates his or her thoughts and feelings on how an objective could be accomplished successfully.  Each child has a role during class and the success of the whole class is dependent on each student’s participation. Many of our activities are team based, which ensures every child puts forth their best effort to ensure a successful experience. Each student is learning to do what is best for the group, not necessarily themselves. We focus on playing properly under the rules of every game with character and sportsmanship to develop a student who is independent and respects one another. Each quality we practice is an important component of each child’s development, which in turn creates the best possible teammate and individual.

The excellent communication with our childrens’ teachers allows us to partner with them to ensure each of our children is supported in becoming the best they can be.  Our kids LOVE school,  REALLY!  As a parent, that is a wonderful confirmation that we are in the right place. —Lower Elementary Parent
