Lower ElementaryThe best word to describe the lower elementary curriculum is “understanding.” All subjects—math, science, history, biology, art, music, language, Spanish, and geography—are taught to promote an understanding of the principles and processes rather than rote memorization. In addition, the children learn time management and to be responsible for their learning. Daily peace lessons teach cooperation, conflict resolution, and respect and understanding of other people. |
Our girls love the elementary program at MSR. Their love for learning is encouraged and fostered by thinking and discovering in their own way. Their teachers know their strengths and weaknesses and guide them to be the best that they can be. The feeling of respect among students and teachers and the whole community is unlike any other school. —Lower Elementary parent |
