APRIL 1996 Board approves master plan for a model Montessori Middle School for MSR

JAN 1997 Dedication of the Donald R. Watson Activity Center

AUG 1998 Fourth section of Lower Elementary opens

MARCH 1999 35 rural acres 9.8 miles from Leadmine Road campus purchased for the MSR middle school

MAY 1999 25th Anniversary Gala Celebrates 25 years and welcomes the return of the Founding Families

AUG 1999 The middle school opens at the Leadmine Road campus

SEPT 1999 Groundbreaking for the Middle School at the rural site

OCT 1999 MSR becomes first and only school in NC to achieve dual Accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the American Montessori Society

APRIL 2000 Board of Trustees approves 2000-2005 School Improvement Plan (SIP) and Strategic Plan

JULY 2000 25th Anniversary Campaign tops $1 million

AUGUST 2000 Student enrollment exceeds 400

NOVEMBER 2000 Middle School building opens on 35 acre campus

AUGUST 2001 Third section of Upper Elementary opens

OCTOBER 2001 Board of Trustees unanimously approves plans for the construction of expanded instructional space

JUNE 2002 Groundbreaking for the 9,500 square feet new Elementary and Encore building

JULY 2003 New Elementary and Encore Building occupied

AUGUST 2005 Phase II of the Middle School building completed.
