Thank you very much for your interest in the Montessori School of Raleigh. After the decision of where to live and work, no decision is more important---or intensely personal---than the decision of where to send one's child to school.

As you ask critical important questions like "Does the School reflect and reinforce my own deeply held parental values and beliefs?" and "Does the School provide the most invigorating educational environment possible for my child?", we are here to answer your questions, discuss your child, and share our philosophy and approach with you. Our mission is to inspire the development of individual children in a safe, supportive, culturally-diverse environment that gives them the freedom to explore, cooperate, create, and become. With 465 children from Toddler (18 months) through Grade 9, MSR represents a rainbow of cultures, languages, religions, races, and nationalities.

The common denominator is our unshakable faith in the giftedness of all youngsters and their ability to realize their fullest potential in a child-centered environment where it is safe for them to explore with all their senses--and to make mistakes. Because of the ownership children are taught to assume for their own learning, we never hold a child back. Some of our elementary or middle school students are, for example, as much as a year or more "ahead" in math.

We are glad you are considering the Montessori School of Raleigh for your child's education. Please plan to come to the school for one of our Wednesday morning Orientation sessions from 9 to 11 a.m. to talk with us, to get a broad overview of our curriculum, to tour the campus, and to visit our teachers. Then, if you have time, plan to linger with us so that together we can begin to map the educational future for your child.

The entire staff joins us in saying "thanks" for your interest. We look forward to having you on campus.

Director of Admissions
